FreeBSD Apache HTTP Accept Filter Error

I recently took on the task of configuring a server with FREEBSD.

I ran into some errors so I will post some of the resolutions I found:

FreeBSD Apache HTTP Accept Filter Error

The resolution to the above problem is to a accf_http module, which function is to buffer incoming connections until a certain complete HTTP requests arrive, into FreeBSD kernel by using kernel linker:

kldload accf_httpThis immediately activates this module

To always load enable HTTP Accept Filter FreeBSD kernel module (accf_http) during the boot, add the following line into /boot/defaults/loader.conf:

accf_http_load=”YES”

Reducing Your Blood Pressure

20071211-salt

Genetics play a big part in how your body handles sodium.

To reduce your blood pressure keep these things in mind:

1. Processed foods are high in sodium.
2. Restaurant foods are very high in sodium. If you do not see the Nutritional label for a dish you should probably avoid it. ( 1 slice of pepperoni pizza is about 1,100mg of sodium! )
3. The recommended amount of sodium intake a day is ~2400mg… try to reduce this to less than 1,500mg.
4. Read the labels then ADD up the salt.
4. If you NEED SALT on your food try a salt substitute (0mg of sodium). Original ‘No Salt’ is pretty good. Sea Salt & Kosher Salts have around 22-24mg of sodium per 1/4 teaspoon, so that wont help.
5. Drink orange juice. It has vitamin C AND a nice amount of potassium which helps reduce blood pressure.
6. Eat raw celery. 2-4 stalks a day will help remove excess water from your body helping reduce your pressure. If you dont like the taste, pretty it up with a little salad dressing.
7. Learn to breathe better. Shallow breathing causes the body to work harder to get oxygen. (raising your blood pressure)
8. Reduce your stress. Let small things slide.
9. 30 minutes to 1 hour of walking a day.

After 3 weeks of doing this your blood pressure readings should drop a lot.

Your Credit Score & YOU!

20071112-credit-cards

There ought to be more emphasis put on finances while going through school. At least give the basics between 10th and 12th grades. A lot of young people don’t realize the impact debt and credit scores have on their futures. When I was 20 I had no idea that not paying my car note on time would affect me for years to come. I was under the impression that if they got paid eventually everything was cool. A few years later I wanted to get a new car and all of the dealerships would run my credit and deny me. Their line was always “Your credit report shows that you have been late consistently on your bills.” But… they got paid! Hmmm, so not only does it matter that I pay, they want me to pay ON TIME.

I got my act together and started paying on time. A year goes by and I head to the dealership again. DENIED! But… I’ve been paying my bills on time. Well, thats all good but you have 6 more years of paying on time before your past gets erased.

I told that story to stress the importance of paying your bills on time. You ever got mail from doctor’s office 8 months after you went for a checkup saying you owe them $10? Don’t just brush it off and say “Im not paying that!” Handle it. Call them and get the issue settled because IT WILL END UP ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT as a collection. Collections hurt your credit score also.

Genarlow Wilson was released from prison

20071027-wilson

Genarlow Wilson was released from prison Friday, after spending more than two years behind bars for a teen sex conviction.

“At times I dealt with adversity … my family and myself, we finally get to deal with happiness now,” Wilson said, with his mother and sister at his side.

The Georgia Supreme Court earlier Friday ordered that he be released, ruling 4-3 that his sentence was cruel and unusual punishment.

Wilson, 21, was convicted in 2005 of having oral sex with a consenting 15-year-old girl when he was 17.

Wilson said he first heard about the possibility he’d be freed Friday when someone told him word was out on the radio.

“I’d seen it coming, but I didn’t exactly know when,” he said. “I’d just stopped trying to figure the courts out and stopped trying to put a date on it.”

Wilson said he was looking forward to spending time with his family and plans to enroll in college to study sociology.

“You will not be disappointed,” he told his supporters. “I plan on succeeding in life.”

Wilson also said he doesn’t regret rejecting a plea offer that could have freed him from prison months ago — but would have required him to register as a sex offender.

Cosby’s Words That Started It All

Address at the NAACP’ on the 50th Anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education

20071018-bill-cosby

On poor people:

“The lower economic and lower middle economic people are not holding their end in this deal. In the neighborhood that most of us grew up in, parenting is not going on. … I’m talking about people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was 2? Where were you when he was 12? And where were you when he was 18, and how come you don’t know he had a pistol?”

On illiteracy:

“Brown v. Board of Education is no longer the white person’s problem. We’ve got to take the neighborhood back. We’ve got to go in there. Just forget telling your child to go to the Peace Corps. It’s right around the corner. It can’t speak English. It doesn’t want to speak English. I can’t even talk the way these people talk. “Why you ain’t where you is go, ra.” … Everybody knows how important it is to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can’t land a plane with ‘Why you ain’t …’ You can’t be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.”

Hip-hop culture hurting NFL

20071018-chad-larry

NFL truth: Hip-hop culture hurting NFL
Jason Whitlock / FOXSports.com

You get one NFL Truth today. Watching Chad Johnson and Larry Johnson undermine their respective head coaches, Marvin Lewis and Herm Edwards, on Sunday gave me a singular focus, forced me to contemplate an uncomfortable truth.
African-American football players caught up in the rebellion and buffoonery of hip hop culture have given NFL owners and coaches a justifiable reason to whiten their rosters. That will be the legacy left by Chad, Larry and Tank Johnson, Pacman Jones, Terrell Owens, Michael Vick and all the other football bojanglers.

In terms of opportunity for American-born black athletes, they’re going to leave the game in far worse shape than they found it.

It’s already starting to happen. A little-publicized fact is that the Colts and the Patriots β€” the league’s model franchises β€” are two of the whitest teams in the NFL. If you count rookie receiver Anthony Gonzalez, the Colts opened the season with an NFL-high 24 white players on their 53-man roster. Toss in linebacker Naivote Taulawakeiaho “Freddie” Keiaho and 47 percent of Tony Dungy’s defending Super Bowl-champion roster is non-African-American. Bill Belichick’s Patriots are nearly as white, boasting a 23-man non-African-American roster, counting linebacker Tiaina “Junior” Seau and backup quarterback Matt Gutierrez.
